Subject: Mother's Day Sermon and Prayer Concerns

SUNDAY WORSHIP

This is the day the Lord has made, Let us rejoice and be glad in it

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

Today's lessons are: Genesis 1:26-28 and Galatians 3:26-29

The Sermon is: "Women Hold Up Half the Sky"

You can access today's sermon at this link:

Prayers:

—Please offer grateful prayers for every blessing we have received from our mothers, for all the mothers of our congregation, pray especially for the mothers of the world who are in need.

—Please lift up in prayer any needs in the congregation and the community that have developed while I have been away.

—Please pray for the Methodist Church. Last Sunday, May 1, that domination began to implement a split that has divided Methodists around the world concerning the church position on issues related to homosexuality

—Please do not cease to be in prayer for the war in the Ukraine, with special prayer for the wounded, the families of those who have died, the needs of the besieged and the refugees.

Birthday Prayers for Eva Barker, today, May 8, and for Shirley Lee on Saturday, the 14th

SCRIPTURE WORDS OF FAITH

A capable wife who can find?
She is far more precious than jewels.

She opens her mouth with wisdom,
and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.

Her children rise up and call her happy;
her husband too, and he praises her:

—Proverbs 31:10,26,28

Stay whole, stay healthy, stay close to God

"The Sikh community has always been invisible in the story that our nation tells itself. It's not just our pain and struggle and sacrifice and suffering. It's our wisdom! [But we can] take that medicine and offer it for a new age, a new time -- by rejecting hierarchies of human value, by building a movement for revolutionary love." -Valarie Kaur
